Wedding Films / Cultural Campaigns
Wedding film production design & set design in India.
Set Craft designs culturally specific wedding environments for advertising films, branded content and cinematic campaigns — balancing ritual, family context, colour, costume, product and camera within one visual world.
Designing culture for camera
A wedding world has to feel specific before it feels spectacular.
Wedding films ask the environment to communicate a great deal very quickly: region, ritual, family, scale, emotion and occasion. At the same time, the frame still needs room for actors, costume, product, lighting and movement.
That is why Set Craft begins with cultural and narrative research before deciding on flowers, drapes or decorative layers. The goal is not to fill the frame. It is to make the right cues visible, believable and cinematic.
Vivo Wedding Films / Regional environments
One campaign. Multiple cultural worlds.
Regional specificity was treated as a production-design system rather than a surface theme. Each environment changed in architecture, colour, props, ceremony logic and spatial behaviour while remaining part of one campaign language.
North Indian Wedding
Festive family world
Layered florals, warm colour, gathering spaces and celebration details shaped around the camera.
Bengali Wedding
Ritual-led set design
Shola details, painted ritual objects, ceremonial geometry and family staging developed around Bengali traditions.
Manipuri Wedding
Regional ceremony language
Entrance, dress, procession and ceremonial space designed around local visual and performance cues.
South Indian Wedding
Ceremony & courtyard world
Traditional elements, floral structure and spatial rhythm balanced with performance and costume.
Two States Wedding
Punjabi + Malayalam visual worlds
Two cultural languages brought into one coherent environment through colour, florals, gathering zones and ceremonial detail.
Film production design, not event decoration
The design is judged by the frame, not by how much decoration is present in the room.
Foreground, background, actor positions and product moments determine where visual density is useful and where the frame needs to breathe.
A bridal room, family argument, ritual, dance sequence and arrival scene need different spatial and emotional conditions even within one wedding world.
The same environment may be shot out of sequence over long hours, so props, florals, textiles and practical lights need a clear reset logic.
Temporary surfaces, modular dressing and selective build decisions can create the required visual impact without spending on areas the camera never sees.
Production-design scope
What wedding film production design can include.
The scope changes with the script. A single family home, a five-region campaign and a purpose-built ceremonial environment should not be planned or budgeted in the same way.
Cultural & visual research
Regional references, ritual objects, household details, textiles, flowers, furniture and spatial cues relevant to the people represented.
Set / location strategy
Deciding whether to build, adapt a home, transform a venue or combine multiple locations into one believable wedding world.
Ceremony & family environments
Arrival, bridal preparation, ritual zones, dining, family seating, lounges, corridors and transition areas developed as one system.
Colour, textile & floral direction
Palette and material relationships coordinated with costume, skin tone, cinematography and product visibility.
Props & regional details
Ceremonial objects, artwork, tableware, accessories and custom elements that help the space read culturally without becoming generic.
Build, dressing & shoot support
Fabrication, sourcing, installation, final dressing, continuity and camera-led refinements according to the agreed production scope.
Designed from the camera outward
Every ritual has a different spatial problem.
A wide family ceremony may need clear depth and layered groups. A phone moment may need a cleaner background. A bridal preparation scene may need controlled intimacy. A dance or celebration sequence needs movement, rhythm and multiple usable angles.
Rather than treating the entire wedding as one decorated backdrop, the design is broken into moments and each space is shaped around what has to happen there.

Working process
From cultural research to a shoot-ready wedding world.
Script & context
We map the regions, rituals, family relationships, product moments, locations, schedule and number of visual worlds required.
Research & visual direction
Cultural references are organised into palette, materials, props, flowers, architecture and the amount of festive layering appropriate to the story.
Spatial planning
Layouts are developed around performance, camera movement, family groupings, transitions and the moments the film needs to capture.
Sourcing & fabrication
Props, custom ceremonial elements, furniture, textiles, florals and scenic work are sourced or built according to lead time and visual importance.
Install, dress & shoot
The spaces are dressed, refined through the camera, maintained for continuity and adjusted as performance or framing evolves.

Common questions
Wedding film production design FAQs
Do you design real weddings and wedding events?
This specific service is primarily for filmed work — advertising films, branded campaigns and narrative wedding content. For selected real-world celebration, proposal and event-decoration briefs, see Set Craft Decor.
Can you design multiple regional weddings within one campaign?
Yes. The Vivo Wedding Films work included multiple regional environments. Each one can have its own research, material and ritual logic while still belonging to a consistent campaign language.
Can you transform an existing home or venue instead of building a full set?
Yes. Location transformation is often the most efficient route. We first identify what the existing architecture gives the film, then add, remove or adapt only what affects the visual world.
How early should the production designer be involved?
Ideally before major locations and culturally specific props are locked. Early involvement gives more time for research, specialist sourcing, floral planning and custom fabrication.
Do you work outside Mumbai?
Yes. Set Craft is Mumbai based and works across India. Regional sourcing, local consultation, crew and logistics are planned according to the cultural and production requirements.
